Dining
at our Grantown-On-Spey Highland Restaurant |
The formal dining room
and adjoining garden room create a warm ambience for the candlelit
dinners which are a fascinating blend of traditional and modern
Scottish cooking. In the morning you may well be lucky enough
to see the red squirrels breakfasting!!!
A carefully chosen wine list enhances the enjoyment of the food
which is prepared to order using fresh local ingredients where
possible.
A Silver Award from Eat Scotland, a silver plate and a Breakfast
Rosette from Hotel Review Scotland and inclusion in Amanda Clarke's
"Guide to The Best Tastes of Scotland" are indicative
of good food in the dining room.
The Scottish Food Grading Scheme has awarded The Pines as a Three
Medallion Restaurant. Although normally set up with individual
tables for guests, we have two large expanding tables which are
ideal for the hosting of intimate private house parties.
We are a Three Medallions Restaurant in The Scottish Food Grading
Scheme and are members of The Taste of Scotland.
We are delighted to have awards but our real
aim is to give each person the feeling of being a special guest
in a very special Highland home.
We are very concerned about the quality of ingredients used
in food preparation. We use free range eggs and humanely reared
meat. We use locally sourced food such as smoked salmon from
the smokehouse by the River Spey, wild venison and other game
according to season from local estates. Cereals come from a
nearby Highland supplier. Please see our links page for information
on some of our suppliers.
We take great care sourcing the ingredients used in the preparation
of the dishes that we serve. We do not buy mass produced convenience
foods nor do we use genetically modified food, relying on the
integrity of suppliers in this regard.
