Fishing for Salmon and Trout at the River Spey

A view of the Cairngorm Mountains

Fishing
The River Spey is famous for both salmon and sea trout, while other fishing is also available. Fishing can be arranged for guests, as can the hire of both a ghillie and tackle. There is ample storage for rods and there are freezing facilities.

Golf
The excellent local golf course is just half a mile away and there are many other good courses to add variety - from the championship Nairn course to the beautiful Boat of Garten.

Walking
As well as the challenging Cairngorm Mountains there are an endless number of wonderful walks that will be of interest to ornithologists, botanists and lovers of fine scenery.

Touring
The central position of Grantown makes it an ideal touring centre. For outings by car consider: The Whisky Trail; historic castles including Balmoral; Ballindalloch, Brodie and Cawdor; Culloden Battlefield - a Scottish tragedy; Loch Ness and The Isle of Skye.
